We were as green as the average Freshman when we entered High School on the twelfth of September, nineteen hundred and twenty-seven, but we became wiser each day, first learning that room eleven was not the gym as an obliging junior had said. When the matter of classrooms was straightened our next great difficulty was in un- derstanding the huge words the Seniors used. Imagine our surprise when we learned that catastrophe was not a biological term, With Mr. Higgins as our guide we soon forgot our shyness and entered into activ- ities with unsurpassed enthusiasm. The class was represented in varsity football and basketball and in the Taggart Prize Contest. This year has found the Sophomore class, aided by Miss Williams, one of the most active in the school. Again it has been represented in football and basketball. It not only excels in athletics, but in intellect as well, for the Sophomores have that will to learn that cannot be stilled. ln each activity that brings honor to our Alma Mater' they take part willingly. The enthusiasm, pep and loyalty of the Sophomores to reach high ideals cannot but bring improvements to our Alma Mater. May the class of '31 in the two years to come, to the words, You Must and You Should always reply, We Can and We Will. -Martha Cowan.
