A Christmas program was presented, the all school play and a one- I act play. There were various tournaments throughout the year in which East Newton was well represented. The rewards of speech are many and far reaching. Students are not only taught to write a speech but how to best ex- press themselves in public. 95.0 K' K! Ye X ...- M... Debi Allman is pictured with her third place poetry trophy from Aurora. Debi also went to the District Tournament at Springfield and was ranked first in Dramatic Reading. From there she went to the State Contest and received a superior rating. Harry Styron was master of ceremony at the Christmas program. Debi Allman gave a dramatic interpretation The Little Match Girl. At the Christmas program. The one act play, The Birthday Present at the District Tourna- ment in Springfield a superior rating was given.
