ADMINISTRATION Mr. J. H. Windrow, Principal; Mr. Hilary Martin, Assistant Principal; Mrs. Jean Hill, Bookkeeper; Mr. Jimmie Bushulen, Bookstore Manager; Miss Evelyn Wright, Secretary; Mr. Kim Smith, Business Manager. As you, our class of 1964, take your place in a long and varied procession of Youth, leaving high school to prove individually and practically, in the business world or in college, the curse of ignorance or the efficacy of education, may you have learned well these basic lessons: Facts are necessary told; the ability to reason, to work, to adapt to changing situations is imperative; the only real peace exists within each individual heart; the only real security is earned security; ancient verities are unchanging and eternal; there is no truancy from life. Now comes the acid test. Practice daily and wisely these lessons; and, strong in will, go forth to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield. Life may not be easy; but a good life, well-lived, is always rewarding. This is our sincere wish for each of you: To be honest, to be kind, to earn a little and to spend a little less, to make upon the whole a family happier for his presence, to renounce when that shall be necessary and not to be embittered, to keep a few friends, but these without capitulation; above all, on the same condition, to keep friends with himself; here is a task for all a man has of fortitude and delicacy. Acquit yourselves like men--like East High Eagles! And we will be proud of you. 6

FOREWORD As three years’ time elapses and their memories find a permanent place in our minds and hearts, we see our every word, thought, and deed revolved around one thing, our school --EAST SENIOR HIGH. The joys, the tears, the work, and fun, the sports events lost and won, an East High image, a senior ring, the prom, and graduation--above everything. These things which help mold our character--and influence our decisions are all part of EAST HIGH’S tradition and to this tradition we, the staff of the Grey Eagle, dedicate this yearbook. Our sincere appreciation goes to those classes and leaders preceding our class of ’64 who have established the customs we shall cherish. For fulfilling-long-awaited moments with traditional splendor, we salute you and offer this dedication to you--the tradition of EAST HIGH, which awaits to be re-enacted again and again. Partially recorded and visualized are those memorable moments of 1963-64 which lie in the pages ahead. 5
