QXKVQ' if V. .ga ,N xgikk'-1 V TIGER BASKETEERS OF '43 After getting off to a slow start under the direction of a new coach, the Tigers improved with each game and proved to be one of the best teams in the district at the end of the seasong led by Captain Bruce Ray, they hung up one of the most impressive records produced by the Tiger Troopers in several seasons. In two very closely contested games with Sabine to decide the championship, the boys went down in defeat to finish second. Lettermen of the Tigers of '43 include: Bruce Ray, Rogie McCullar, Wendell Oliver, Jimmy Kurtz, Grayson Stilwell and Jack Snead. Squad- men include: Buddy Adkins, Junior Adkins, Eugene Griffin, Earnest Jackson, Douglas Petty, Claude Fenton, Fred Bates, and Charles Latch m. Mr. Leonard Cannaday was coach.
