MEMORIAL FRED FORBEY 1981 LION No person was ever honored for what he received. Honour is the reward for what he gave. He who has truth in his heart need never fear the want of persuasion on his tongue. There is nothing noble in being superior to some other person. The true nobility is in being superior to your previous self. Anonymous PRESIDENT CLOIS CHEATHAM Dear Students: This school year, 1980-1981, you have taken another step toward your goals and destiny in life. This destiny is controlled by you. You are the pilot of your ship of life. East Mississippi Junior College, as an Institution has striven to provide you with perceived concepts that you might adapt to your individual goals. To the Graduates, do not leave here thinking your mission is accomplished. Life ' s mission is still ahead, continue to grow, prosper, and contribute to society such that it will be much bet- ter than you found it. Students, make the most efficient use of your labor, energy, resources, and ingenuity adapting these into your life style so that they will give you clear definitions of what life is about. How will you answer the following questions: What responsibilities do I have to myself? What are my responsibilities to the generations that follow? Am I dedicated to do my best? Only you have the answers. No one can answer for you. My wishes for you are such that you achieve to your maximum ability and have a life filled with the riches of happiness and security. May God be with you throughout life. Sincerely, Clois Cheatham, President -■-.
