There are times when we need a firm hand to guide us, and she is always there. As the 1971-72 school year ends, so does Miss Ann ' s school career. It is our great loss to see her leave; but our great gain to have had her as a friend, a teacher, and as Dean of Women. Every educational institution is dependent upon its students for its existence; without students, there would be no need for East Mississippi Junior College. Similarly, the quality of any educational institu- tion is dependent upon the caliber of its students. East Mississippi Junior College is fortunate enough to have the best student body in the state. Take time and look around at your fellow students and you will find that you are among an outstanding group of young men and women. Throughout life, you will cherish the friendships you have made here. This LION will serve as a re- minder of these friends and of the many happy times you had with them while attending EMJC. It also serves as a reminder of the dedicated work the faculty and staff have devoted to giving you excellence in education. It has been my privilege to work with the students, staff, and governing body of East Mississippi Jun- ior College for the last two academic years. During this time, the efforts of these groups have resulted in many improvements for EMJC. With the continued support of you soon-to-be alumni, the staff, and the present alumni, we will continue our program of growth. To you students who have contributed so much to our school, I would like to say Thank You on behalf of your fellow students, the staff, the alumni and future students. In closing, let me say to the students of 1971-1972, best of luck in all of your endeavors.
