' - ' ¥ 4g— — | . A 7- iS V c Dawn of a New Era This year EMJC launched upon what we, The Lion Staff, confi- dently hail as The Dawn of a New Era. At the end of his first year at the helm of EMJC, President Har- bour was commended in a dedica- tory statement by the 1955 Lion Staff for his ability to make dreams come true ... his vision for an enlarged and greater EMJC and his unflagging efforts in mak- ing that vision a reality. With a greatly broadened and strengthened academic program, with the library tremendously up- graded, with the stadium capacity ' doubled, with the renovating of the cafeteria and the contracting for the long famous Morrison ' s Food Services, with an ever increasing enrollment and unending improve- ments to our campus. The 1966 Lion Staff reiterates that our Presi- dent ' s ability has made and con- tinues to make dreams come true, that his resolute diligence for an enlarged and greater EMJC contin- ues to be unflagging. We too recog- nize in him vision that results in reality, and we commend in him leadership that knows success. ..... • ' ■ • ' • .. .|PH  ' . 5 C ACADEMIC DEAN and REGISTRAR Ikie Ethridge DEAN of MEN Bob Sullivan DIRECTOR of STUDENT PERSONNEL George Herget SECRETARY to DEAN and REGISTRAR Mrs. Ikie Ethridge BUSINESS MANAGER Charles Malone SECRETARY to BUSINESS MANAGER Mrs. Harold Harris DEAN of WOMEN Anne Anderson ASSISTANT DEAN of WOMEN Onie Jumper White Here We Grow Again 10 We Dedicate The 1966 Lion to One Who Is Herself Dedicated . . . Because every girl who has lived in the dormitory for the past twelve years has taken into life a part of her compassion, her sincerity, her selflessness, and her genuine kindness Because she meets innumerable problems — the significant, as well as the trivial — with a smile, a hint, an encouraging word, an understanding glance, or a twinkle from the corner of her eye Because she stirs warm feelings in the hearts of all her associates — students, faculty, and personnel Because we owe her more than we can ever repay We are proud to dedicate THE 1966 LION To this Grand Lady of EMJC . . . We have missed his smile and presence in the activities on the campus of EMJC; yet there is so much around that reminds us daily of him. His love for football made him a favorite on our campus. At the beginning of this year he was a student member of the coaching staff. On September 4, 1965, he lost his life in a tragic automobile accident. 16 «v . -■ V ' We •t Vjv-- .. i « fit $  nrv •fc ' N . 4! J! ' 5? i ; ; - - Classes 17 . .
