We ' re still thinking of you, Mr, Jones! I J. C. Jones has been missed this year on the E.M.J.C. campus. After teaching mathematics here for twenty-one years he re- tired May 22, 1953. Prof, or Dad Jones as he is known to most all of his students, was born in Tuttle, Kentucky, Laurel County. Prof Jones began his teaching career in Ken- tucky, where he taught for four years. In 1913 he came to Mississippi and taught for 36 years. He first taught in Mississippi at Rexford, then at Touchstone, Magee, Braxton, Harrisville, Salem Consolidated High School, and then came to E.M.J.C. as head of the mathematics department. Since Prof. Jones ' retirement he has been devoting much time to his hobbies, which are gardening and growing flowers. His pride and joy is his flower and vegetable gar- den where he now spends all of his spare time. Although he is enjoying his retirement, Prof Jones says he misses going to school every day, being in the classroom, and meet- ing the students in the halls and chatting with them.
