Soon we ' ll be looking at our Annual and think- ing of the varied experiences that we have had this session. Perhaps, this session has been different from any other school year any of us have experienced. Since the beginning of the session Japan has attacked the United States and has killed many of our soldiers. Germany has also gone to war against us. Some of our students have been called into the Armed Ser- vice of our Nation. Many of you have experi- enced tragedies in your homes caused by the war. I want to congratulate you on the morale that you have maintained under these trying conditions. You have shown the true American Spirit in that you have practiced self-control. You have attacked your problems in this school in a manner that deserves praise in the highest degree. 1 believe in the future of America because I believe in you.
