Now 'that languages are more imperative for college entrance, East's language department has greatly increased its equipment and opportunities. Language classes have now been divided into regular and advanced work. Through a wide selection of carefully planned extra- curricular activities, such as The Future Business Leaders of America, field trips, the NOMA Award, and placement service, the department acquaints all students with busi- ness and commercial positions which are open to high school graduates. Erasures were necessary occasionally, too. Mr. Andrews' Bookkeeping I classes studied business procedures. Students in business classes were given help in locating part-time and full-time jobs.
