MASCOTS Tommy Stilwell Bennie Lippard SENIOR CLASS POEM Listen underclassmen, and you shall hear How East to us seniors became so dear. We ' ll never forget as the years go by, The fun we had at dear ole East High. We were the first class, the school was new, (One we ' ll be proud to leave to you). That first year seemed a little long, But with our teachers ' help we got along. Our sophomore year passed at last, And we moved up to the Junior Class. We began to get into the spirit of things, Looking forward to what each new day would bring. Now we are seniors all too soon, And we know that in the following June Part of our goal at last we ' ll reach. Gone forever are our days at East. Never again shall we sit and cram, Eloping to pass that big exam, Or the nights at a ball game we ' d be Cheering our boys on to victory. Our high school days, yes, they ' re almost gone, Soon out of school we ' ll be and on our own. And now as we leave we realize, These have been the best years of our lives. But before we leav e, we should like to relay The great love we shall have for our school always. Jo Anne Jacobs, Class Poet MOTTO We strive today for a better tomorrow. Page Ten
