(Lower Left) The motorcycle — another form of transportation. Unfortunately not all of us have cars. Transportation for some of us is still the old methods of buses, bikes, walking or being driven by our parents. Those who do drive are constantly asked for lifts and arrive in school at the last possible minute. People who take the bus don't know when they'll get to school. They either stand at their bus stop for hours or run down the block to catch it on time. Bicyclers and walkers are a hearty bunch. In the worst weather they trudge their way to school. Let's not forget those lazy individuals that ask Mom or Dad to transport them back and forth. In this way they avoid the horrors of all other modes of transportation. We all may get here in different ways but it doesn't really matter as long as we get here. Transportation 13

STUDYING Laime Weiss soaks up a few autumn rays as she prepares a report. Irwin Schtierman and Nicole Stelling use the East Meadow Public Library for research projects. Oh, how we hated to study. It was so uncool. What had studying to do with school, anyhow? No one, years from now, will remember the hours we put in studying. What we want to remember are the good times. But we did — occasionally and very rarely — study. They made us do it — they with their pop quizzes and their tests and their reports and failure notices and report cards. Well, we had to study sometimes. I guess it wasn't all bad. Some of the stuff was sort of interesting. I guess I learned a lot. I really did. You know, maybe all that studying was worth something.
