Jennifer Rosen and Debbie Gabelman let their spirits shine at the pep rally. A current of excitement always runs through the school on the day of the pep rally. The excitement spills over from the gym, through the halls where cheerleaders are putting up the traditional blue and gold streamers and into the classrooms. Seniors, juniors, sophomores, faculty, and alumni pour into the gym. The bleachers are packed with screaming students who demonstrate to a deaf world their unbounded enthusiasm. Finally, Mr. Kostynick steps to the microphone and introduces the Rockettes, who perform a high-kicking routine. The Varsity Cheerleaders follow with a Hello cheer. Finally, the high point is reached. Mr. Boyle introduces the Varsity Football Players. The crowd goes wild. Other teams are introduced, but the heroes of the pep rally are the Varsity Football Jets. With the help of the band, the Rockettes perform their routines during the pep rally. The Varsity Cheerleading squad awaits the chance to perform the cheers they practice every day. The faces of a few East Meadow High School students are seen at a nearby diner before the pep rally begins. 14 Pep Rally
