The intricate role of foreign affairs in recent years places a greater demand on the student to know more about the histories and cultures of nations other than his own. Through the efforts of the Language De- partment, the student;is taught the speech of a foreign country and the customs of its people. In this way, he will be able to further the ties among nations and bring them closer together in future years. Conducting bands, orchestras and choral groups, these teachers obtain quality through practice and in- struction. The student experiments with many arrange- ments and compositions, ranging from classical to jazz.
