Led by allcounty junior Dave Fetter and all-league soph- omore Al Vitiello, the Jets com- pleted their most successful season in five years. Under first- year coach William Ballou, the Jets compiled a 7-5-3 record, including a victory over county champ Oceanside, which was undefeated until its encounter with the Jet booters. Senior full- backs Steve Swerdlow and Don Rosenthal were goalie Steve Felder's key helpers in holding the opposition to twenty goals. Belth Ken Norris serves Trying for its thirty-fifth straight victory, the varsity tennis team, captained by Ron Norris, met its first defeat in two seasons. With the strong first doubles team of Andy Gitlin and Larry Baum, and singles players Ron Norris, Phil Zucker, and Ken Norris, the netmen, under the leadership of coach John Beaudoin, had a great season, suffering only two losses. . Under the able coaching of Charles Dinklemeyer and Norman Maisel the varsity wrestling team achieved a record of 9 and 3. Out- standing performances were turned in by seniors Dennis Haggerty, Jules Siskind, Jerry Gorelick, and Steve Bantz. In post-season competition the Jets had many of their grap- plers seeded high in the all-league as well as county championships.
