1945 THE REFLECTOR Diary of a Senior Sept. 5-And 33 sophisticated seniors entered room 5 to begin our last year of school twe hopel. 6-Spent the morning anxiously watching the clock and thinking, Won't it ever be 12 o'clock so we can go to Lehighton Fair? 7-A few seniors were wishing it was Iune 8 Calreadyl. 13-tSomeone moaning in back of the rooml. Mrs. Nace: Does someone have growing pains? Ioe: lt can't be that, he's a senior. 15-Gena: Why do we have to make a scorecard and judge our canned fruit? Miss Helman: So you can judge fruits and vegetables when you go to the store. Gena: How are we going to see through a tin can? 20-Pauline Wildoner tin Senior Sciencel: Do the quills of a porcupine grow on a tree? Z1-Miss Becker: Can anyone tell me something about Schubert? Pauline: I-le's dead. ' 22-Dorothy, Betty, Gena, and Lois: What happened to your jelly in H. Ec. today? lt looked like candy. Oct. 3-Mr. Sharp explains the fundamentals of publishing a yearbook during English class today. 6-Senior girls were sewing the mats today. ' l3-Whose cake fell on the floor after you had it iced? ' 14-We held our first bake sale today. ' 16-At last! Two days off. Teachers' Institute. 24-Beatsie: Where's my 18-month-old baby? Pete: If it's 18 months old, it should be running around here some place. tlt was a picture Beatsie needed for hygienel. ' 27-Today we counted up all the calories We didn't eat. ' 30-Iohn Kochie gave a talk on nurses. Mr. Zaengle: W'hat elements are found in the sea? Iohn: Fish. Nov. l-First day of hunting season. Quite a number of boys are absent. 2-Claire, Rosemary, and Mary Ieane discussing what they are going to wear to usher at the Grade School operetta. Rosemary: Are you wearing high shoes? 17-Senior High School play was a great success. 20-Entertained by a magician in assembly today. 21-We just learned that Eppie gives Miss Rogers nightmares. ' 22-Half session today because Thanksgiving vacation begins. 27-We were entertained by Dr. Nichols, the famous Whistler. 30-lack Stemper kissed the senior girls tall of them? good-by-e before leaving for the Navy. Word was received that Fred Bumhauser, a former classmate, was wounded in action. Dec. l-Girls' basketball was begun today. Ethel Moser and Gloria Hascher, ll two seniors, are the captains. 7 21-Members of the band held a Christmas party today. Page Thirty-nine
