1945 THE REFLECTOR Class Prophecy The trip to New York on Marzen's Transcontinental Bus Line was wonder- ful. On our first stop we visited George Beineman, that great New York furrier. We watched his employees, Rosemary Huber and lune Weichman, model fur coats from Allen Pmtzman's Canadian Fur Farm and dresses designed by Gwendolyn. We proceeded to the Stoneafeller Center built by Blair Redline, the famous architect, and owned by Howard Berger, the Texas cattle baron. The great senatorial debater, Elmer Feuerstein, joined us at Hoehing's com- bined restaurant and foodstore, where Probert Mayor's Green Barons were being featured. As we entered, lames Whitehead was playing a trombone solo, Here Comes the Bride, for Lois Gassner, who had just married a movie actor. We visited Lawrence Mulligan's art studio and met his private secree tary, Pauline Wildoner. Lawrence invited us to attend a show at Ioe Heim- bach's Downtown Theatre, where Poison and Old Lace was showing. Mary leane Moser and Claire Hook were the principals in the play. The second show featured Ethel Moser, the sensational girl athlete, and that slap-happy comedian, Iohn Kochie. We boarded a bus going to the Metropolitan Museum, where we saw pictures painted by that now famous artist, Charles Frace. Leaving the museum, we strolled through Central -Park and, to our pleasant surprise, we saw three cadet nurses, Gloria Hascher, Pauline Guydish, and Betty McTague, feeding the squirrels. On our way out of Central Park, we met two sailors, lack Stemper and Pete Cadden, who joined us for the rest of the tour. We made a mad rush for the upper seats on a double-decker bus. In a few minutes we arrived at the New York airport, where we were cheerfully greeted by the hostess, Beatrice Otto. A transport plane, piloted by Donald Beineman, landed, and the great authoress, Virginia Huber, and her charming secretary, Rosemarie Ginxbor, alighted. They were attending the American Open Air Food Market supervised by Marie, Dolores, and Dorothy. The trip was organized under the auspices of lrene Marinchak, secretary of the local Y. M. C. A.
