Under the ne coaching of Bob Headmond, the Potter track- men totaled 337112 points for the season. Beaver Local, Wellsville, and Weirton were easily beaten by our cindermen, and the Potters finished second in the Mingo Relays, third in the County Track Meet, and sixth in the District State Meet. Art Peters went on from this contest to represent ELHS in the State finals at Columbus. f -is a 1 Wt Three new records were set this year and are as follows: Art Peters shattered the 180-yard low hur- dles in 21.4 seconds, Bill O'Neil set the new record in the 440-yard dash with his time of 53.7 seconds, and the third mark broken was the mile relay with a 3 min. 37.3 sec. timing, members of this mile relay team were A. Peters, D. Betteridge, I. Payn- ter, and B. O,Neil. With most of 1958,s team returning this spring, ELHS should have had another fine season with Coach Headmond directing them.
