The Potters started out in what seemed to be iust another scoring spree by running up a thirty- five point deficit against TORONTO in the first half. However, the Red Knights did not want to be trampled, and they put up a terrific battle in the second half, holding the Blue and White to one TD while scoring once themselves, for a final score of 42-7. THE SENIORS iclockwise from topl-Bernie Allen. Potter quarterback, played terrific ball both on offense and defense and also kicked extra points with ease. Tom Rodfong, one of the best ball handling quarterbacks in the State, saw limited action because of iniuries. Bill English, a good end, was always on hand when the Blue and White needed him most. John Yanni rotated with John Hufchman to keep the opponents off guard all year long and score on those long passes. Bob Erwin a fast and very hard charging back also saw limited action due to iniuries. Jack Dopler won the Bill Booth Award and broke the school individual scoring record with his fine running. Jim Dollis, the top Potter center, was also the finest linebacker seen in ELHS since Nick Trua in l950. Bob Jennings, a very fine tackle, played his side of the line in a way his opponents wished he hadn't. Don Beoffy. a guard, was considered a very fine linebacker in pre-season drills but was iniured and could not finish the season. Dan Oglivie, a small player in weight but one of the biggest standouts on the squad at his guard posi- tion. Jim Emmerling, a tackle, put his heart into the game and turned up as a bad habit for oppos- ing lines. Gary Kroff, a dangerous fullback, saw limited action, but was a great defensive threat. Bill Asllbdugh. a guard, was always alert and ready to pick up opponents' fumbles.
