WM For many years the students of E L H S have been working together, having club projects, saving tax stamps, sponsoring dances, and count- less other activities to make possible the public address system which is now in operation. This was the year it was achieved. The P-A System's ghostly voice surprised the students one un- expected morning Iast fall. It makes communication possible between the High School, Central, and the M-A. The system cost the Student Council, sponsor of the project, over SS4,000. All who in any way have helped to make this task a success are to be commended. If JJ 50 d mv ning my This intricate switchboard for the public address system with its dozens of switches, plugs, and dials is being operated by Wayne Williams as Paul Cox, seen in the broadcasting room, waits for the go-ahead signal. The sys- tem will contact one or all rooms and permits two-way communication. Besides daily bulletins, radio broadcasts- both student and professional-and recordings can be heard where desired. The deans can work much more promptly and efficiently, the principal can be assured that no one is missing important announcements, and teachers in Central and High School buildings can request important radio or student broadcasts. lt was a long and expensive job acquiring the P-A system, but surely worth it. All modern school plants and factories are so equipped. 4 ll 31.3
