Ensemble Officers Donita Mullins, Ann Huitt, Frankie Perkins-Vice President, Donnie Maggart-President, Ion Rhyne. - 11Q..i-.- The East Lincoln Ensemble is an au- ditioned group that performs many concerts for our school and the sur- rounding communi- ty. It consists of many talented indi- viduals who enjoy the performing arts. lt seemed that this year was a year of working together for a purpose. The three county schools, East Lin- coln, Lincolnton, and West Lincoln, united together for the All County Chorus which per- formed for all of Lincoln County in the Citizens Center. The Ensemble and Advanced Chorus were a success in re- presenting East Lincoln. An in inite variety of accomplishments D.A.R. Good Citizen The DAR Good Citizen is nominated and chosen by the faculty. The DAR Good Citizen possesses the qualities of Leadership, Dependability, Service, Cooperation, and Pa- triotism. This year's DAR Good Citizen is Nathan Houser He is well-liked and respected by his peers and teachers alike. Morehead Scholarship Nominees Morehead Award Nominees are selected by the faculty. The criteria in selection is as follows: 12 The student shows evidence of moral characten leadership ability, and interest in schoolmatesg 22 Scholastic ability and extracurricular activiesg 32 Physical vigon shown by participation in competitive sports or in other ways. Denise Hagen Steve Melby, Lori Calloway, and Sandy Bolick are Morehead Nominees for this year Sandy Bolick was chosen as County Morehead Nominee for District Competition. 'X Foreign Exchange Students Nuria Fernandez is from Madrid, Spain. She is stayind with Mark Bowden and his family. Her hobbies include dancing, listening to music, roller skating, tennis, and softball. She was tapped into the Beta Club. Christina Andersson is from Gothamberg, a small town in southwest Spain. Shelley Martin's family is hosting her She has participated in school activities such as band and Girls' Varsity Basketball fwhich she says are new to heri, and the Beta Club. These young ladies have enjoyed their stay in Denven and we have learned to love both of them. We wish them happiness and success and hope they'll return for another visit. Governors School Nominees The Governor's School Nominees are seven outstanding juniors selected by the faculty. Students who are selected to attend the summer program must maintain a high average in English, foreign languages, mathematics, sciences, and performing arts.
