She is a mem- ber of the FCA, the rifle line, and was a junior Varsity Cheerleader as a Sophomore. She is currently serving as President of the Ad- vanced Chorus Class and is a bus driver Her hobbies include swim- ming, snow-skiing, dancing, ten- nis, and horseback riding. After graduation she plans to attend Western Carolina University and major in Business Technology MISS SANDY KEEVER- CARROUSEL NOMINEE Sandy a Senion is a member of the Marching Band, FCA, Spanish Club, Student Coun- ' cil, and is a bus driver Her hobbies include traveling, swimming, singing, and all outdoor activities. After grad- X uation she plans to major in 1 Psychology at Elon College. CAROLINAS' CARROUSEL Seven seniors were nominated for 1986 Carrousel Princess. They were Sandy Bolick, Angie Covington, Danna Funderburk, Wendy Haymore, Sandy Keeven I ill Trexlen and Paula Williams. The student body selected Wendy H aymore as their Princess. She represented East in the Carrousel Pageant on November 27 and the parade on the 28th. The Carolinas' Carrousel includes several functions with business representatives from Charlotte, interviews with judges, a Carrousel Ball, the pageant, and concludes with the parade on Thanksgiving day Wendy will compete against forty-four other young ladies for the title of Car- rousel Queen. Unfortunately this section of our book goes to press before we know the outcome. MISS PA ULA WILLIAMS- CARROUSEL N OMINEE M- Paula, a Senion is a member of the Spanish and Pep Clubs. She was a IV Cheerleader and is currently a member of the An- nual Staff. Her hobbies include dancing, gymnastics, and wa- ter sports. After graduation Paula plans to attend Clemson University or UNCC and ma- jor in Psychology

Mr East Lincoln Pageant 1985 Students Crown 1st Male Beauty si 'tr ' - 1f'1 1 i uw V ,kkI,: H K 9 iale eaf 9 tta ltt f tafii 'tix -, Y v yvegis a ,Q The 1984 Beauty Queen, Miss Ursula Underwood Sponsored by the Spanish Club, the Mn E. L. Beauty Pageant was a hilarious success. The pageant was held on Monday, May 13, 1985. Although the temperature was high, everyone had a super time. Monica Beheler's fourth period Spanish II Class did most of the work on the pageant. Miss Be- heler also was the evening's hostess. Lisa Lackey and Kris Hobson were the emcees. There were also escorts who assisted the beauties around the stage. They were: Anne Millen Stephanie Sherrill, Linda Garrison, Krista Pietsch, Cathy Crutchfield, Danna Funderburk, Crissie Beard, and Lori Callaway. The judges added to the amusement of the evening with their unique appearances and their witty remarks. The judges were Phyllis Henline, Pat Haney Fd Foil, Alan Hoyle, and Vickie Beam. The pageant consisted of four categories: swimsuit, talent, evening gown, and personal interview. ln the swimsuit competition, the Beauties strutted their stuff in some very revealing suits. I n the talent competition such favorites as the Fat Girls performed. Next was the evening gown competition after which the ten finalists were chosen. Then came the deciding factory the interview. After each one of the finalists was interviewed, 'the judges went off into a secret room where they debated. While the judges were busy deciding the night's queen, there was a remarkable performance by the reigning queen, Ms. Ursula Underwood, who performed a breathtaking solo. Then the big moment arrived, the lights dimmed, the crowd hushed, and the winners were announced: Miss Photogenic - Rod Provost, Little Miss Congenility - jeff Warren, Big Miss Congeniality - Steve Davidson, 3rd runner up - john Ritten 2nd runner up - Rob Davis, 1st runner up Iason Hellen and Miss East Lincoln 1985 - Ioe McCall A night of laughter and fun, the pageant was dedicated to someone who loved to laugh and have fun. The 1985 Mr. East Lincoln Pageant was dedicated to the love and memory of Stacy McConnell. The 1985 reigning queen, Miss Myrtle McCall
