Brian Morlan is rockin' to his favorite group Black Flag and insists that he is Not a Machine!! juniors obtain Excellence Class Coordinators 148 Amy Ballard, Georgie Smith, Ashley Sigmon, and john Ritter. Our favorite model is Crystal Hicks. juniors stay busy, and it's not always with school work! This is the year for raising money for the prom, taking the competency test, and deciding what we're going to do with our lives. After all, we're not sophomores any more . . . we're almost seniors! This is a time to make decisions which will affect us the rest of our lives. There are new respon- sibilities and new adventures. Early in the year we chose Georgie Smith, john Ritten Amy Ballard, and Ashley Sigmon as class coordinators. Their primary leadership responsibil- ity is to spearhead the organization of the junior- senior prom. juniors must say So Long to the seniors in as classy a way as possible. Each prom has to be better than that of the year before. This yean the seniors won't be disappointed. To raise the money for the prom the juniors have traditionally sold magazine subscriptions, in Sep- temben to all our friends, relatives, and assorted strangers. In October the juniors must prove their compe- tency by taking the State Competency Tests in reading and math skills. Most show that they real- ly haven't wasted their ten years in school-some have. Those who do not pass get another chance to show their stuff in the spring. Being a junior can be a difficult experience be- cause everyone expects a junior to be mature and responsible, to behave, to excel in school work and in athletics, to drive carefully, to be respectful to our teachers, to stay out of trouble, to help the sophomores, to respect the seniors, to decide what we want to do with our lives, to get a job, to be able to do our homework, to read library books without losing them, to plan, to organize, to sell, to have a good time without making fools of ourselves, to manage our money, as well as our time, to hold our tempers, to stay in school, to be on time . . . and countless other unreasonable demands are forever being put on us because we're the middle class. Regardless of whether we meet all the demands, Vickie Beam still maintains that we're impossible to deal with.
