This summer Tripp Calloway accompanied his father on a Cross-Country bicycle trip. After stops at interesting sites such as the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest, they arrived in Huntington Beach, Calyfornza. Three days later: twenty-five riders left the pier at Hunhngton Beach on the Cross-Country trek. 5000 bike riders followed them for the first fifty miles. Tripp says they traveled through deserts, mountains, residential areas, and towns of all sizes. Tripp told us, We arrived on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City on Sunday, August 4, at 1:45 p.m. After soaking Dad in champagne, part of the group went to the beach and the others went to the Golden Nugget to celebrate. They returned to Denver on Monday August 5, tired and happy Students reach julie Martin has been involved in beauty pageants since the innocent age of two. Her dance teachen Mrs. Rhonda Martin, sparked Iulie's interest in competition. julie currently holds twenty-five titles. She says, I enjoy pageants because they give me a chance to travel nation- wide. This surnmen for instance, she will travel and perform in England, Scotland, and Wales. T I ,, y - If ,, i , it V

The Prom Committee and the waiters and waitresses help make the prom a night to remember for everyone. or excellence over summer km MM MQ r This summer Nathan I-Iouser partici- pated in the Rotary Leadership Camp at Brevard College. This camp was designed to recognize and challenge qualified young people to accept lives of leadership. Nathan was one of 85 students selected to participate from area high schools. This past summer Charles Adkins, Kris Hobson, Tammy Sigmon, and Alice Warwick attended an An- nual Workshop at UNCC. They attended forty-five minute classes five times a day trying to find new ideas for the 1986 annual. Hopefully their ejjforts paid off' Beginning October 1, 1985, a new law requiring front seat passengers to buckle up went into effect. Members of HOSA remind East Lincoln students that wearing their seat belts is the law and that HOSA does care?
