The 1985-86 IM Basketball season turned out to be a big success. Despite their 7-11 seasonal record, they finished second in the conference with an impressive 6-4 standing, ending the year on a good note with a win over county rival and conference champions, Lincolnton. Coach Bazzle says, I would like to compliment the players on their desire and determination in turning a po- tentially disastrous season into a highly success- ful one. Attitude and heart are what all athletes are made of. Keep that in mind and future cham- pionships can be yours. Thanks once again for making East Lincoln I.V Basketball a big suc- cess. Varsity girls display their colors The Lady Mustangs made an impressive showing this season. Yvonne Crouse moved up from I .V coaching to work with this years Varsity team. The team consisted of thirteen players ranging from freshmen to seniors. Each girl was given a chance to play and each girl had a different style. Their separate techniques came together and formed a single unit that worked well together The anticipation of every game added to the excitement. Win or lose, the pride of East Lincoln always stood out from ev- eryone else. We would like to congratulate Coach Crouse and the players on their successful season. IM Girls start season with new coach The I.Vf Girls'season turned out to be tougher than was expected. Under first year coach Randall Ewing, the girls played very well. Although the wins were not always there, the determination was. All the girls worked hard together and always managed to show enthusiasm and good sportsmanship.
