BIOGRAPHY OF THE CLASS OF 1937 We, the SKNIOR CLASS, give to our on-coming fellow lassmates our nv st complete and interesting biography that we have acquired during our four years’ venture in high school education. September, 1933—YVc, as 138 small hut powerful freshmen, oon choose a leader to represent us in the new whirl of high chool activites. Melvin Steingrabcr with the fiery top-knot was proclaimed president, June Pearson, vice-president, and Lois Schutt, secretary-treasurer. Our life began! December, 1934—No longer as frivolous freshmen but as erene and solidified sophomores under the guidance of Melvin Steingrabcr, Marianne Bade, Bert Kinney, and Mildred Pieli-!er, we presented for the entire school a “grande social—The Vnnual Sophomore Christmas Party. It was a superb success i every way with Good “Ole St. Nick reigning and Mistletoe bringing delight and good fun. • We “sophs came into general notice also, because we proved we were not afraid “to get out and do things' in athletics, especially, and also in civic affairs. May. 1936—Bringing forth one of the best performances of ill times, “The Haunted House, we juniors “swelled in our achievement, as was most natural, to give to the seniors “Paris in the Spring —the Prom !! This was the most glorious and satisfying event of the year. No wonder- our able officers—Mike Esposito, president; Mar-iannne Bade, vice-president; and Evelyn Vavra, secretary-treasurer. September, 1936—Having found Mike Esposito and Evelyn Vavra an able president and secretary last year, we counted the ballots and found that they had again won back their re-s| ective offices. Dave Douglass secured the post of secretary and Virginia Gauron. the station of vice-president. June. 1937—Now our four years of high school life are gone, and we are going into our familiar auditorium to receive last benedictions. We, somehow, are just a little bit bewildered and chilled as we march stately up the path to the setting of our graduation. Many thoughts rush through our minds in confus-sion as we take our chairs, and then—Commencement!! We said in our freshman year that Life was beginning We know now by the experience of our four years that it’s hardships and ironies, as well as its pleasure and joys, are just coming into a long and endless view for us to smile and attempt to overcome them, or to wail and let them overcome us.
