Through the past years, many students have walked its halls, sat in its desks, and enjoyed the warmth of high school friendships, keeping the torch of tradition aflame while kindling new sparks to light the way for future classes. Each in his own way has added to the heritage of ELHS while growing in knowledge, under- standing, and maturity. tlk09 (fcnnpu0 ALMA MATER Mid the wavering pines of Georgia Neath the bright blue sky Stands our noble Alma Mater East Laurens High. When the cares of life o ' ertake us, Let ' s turn our memories back Hail to thee our Alma Mater Of the White and Black. jFiinUunrtt 1968 has been a rich full year at ELHS, the center of our learning ... our spirit ... our activities. A school building is constructed of steel and cement, strong and permanent, but it is designed to accomodate an ever-changing flow of students. Year after year buses empty their loads each morning, and people stream in waves into the hallways and classrooms. To the rhythm of bells, tides of people wash in and out of the rooms and corridors and finally back to the buses, leaving the building empty. The individuals that pour in and out all day give the school a soul of dreams and thoughts and memories. The Reverie staff presents this collection of people and events which filled our school year. Ram spirit has kept the torch burning brightly to make 1968 a year that will glow in our hearts for many years to come. ' jii tml (£ xmU Banquet for Evaluation Committee that judged ELHS once again worthy of accreditation. t ' Campus clean-up, Fall Festival, and a contribution to Uncle Sam and our country ' s defense show great variety of events at ELHS. Homecoming pageantry and uniformed high-stepping band add spectacular touch to year ' s events. Star Student selection, club initiations. Senior Appreciation Day, class rings, receiving athletic jackets ... all an exciting part of 1968. Mxxth ®xi l£mTn With an eye to the future, new programs have been initiated, and old ones expanded, modernizing the cirriculum to enable today ' s students to gain the skill and knowledge to become better citizens of tomorrow ' s complex and everchanging world. Skm tu ach tfiHit tlumit ' in SS With the cry of Go, Rams, Go! the 1967-68 teams were on their way to the best year in the history of the school. The tremen- dous football spirit in the fall sped through basketball season and victory after victory! jIj«6IW I The numerous and delightful social events of ELHS bring pleasant interludes to students ' school year. The magnificent Luv-In Souls are favorite music makers. 4 ' f ' , ■, _ FHA Club programs, Pep Rally stunts, and Speech class productions provide much fun and entertainment as they reveal the creative talents of ELHS students. V Achievement is abundant in many fields on the campus of East Laurens ... in de- velopment of character and leadership, in reaching academic goals, in personal skills and talents, even learning to photo- graph one ' s self! i EDITORS: JOHN BRADY, GARY EVANS Need some help? • m tj .■-yam ' m ' - ■4ig!ili« - . «a .
