Cirkxxxr Hits, Cftwtxiixts I 'm Stopping fllll lYith A Jlmnory Still singing. the Seniors started their last year at liast Lansing High with baton-twirler l'rtsident Pete VVlreeler and his stall' sponsoring the lirst important social event ol the year. the All High Mixer. Then. adding finance and fun. we bundled ourselves into the black ledger with a paper sale netting 55002. Later the class distributed Thanksgiving baskets to those less fortunate. httt iust as deserving. as ourselves. in order that others might sing as joyously as we. Mr. Clernant suggested humorously that it might be a good idea to spread our sentiment and school feeling throughout the entire year instead of waiting till graduation day: so the class held a dinner get-together tat Kewpiefsl in the dead of winter. Spurring ourselves on with a song in our hearts. and a twinkle in our eyes. we sold Ceniads'l and SOLD Ceniads. ln .-Xpril. while the weary stall' rested. as the hook was put to bed. we entered the House of a 'lhousand Thrills. the BEST SLXIOR l,L.XY ol' the century dirtcted by Mrs. llruegel. ln Iune w e held our class skip day. and life again set med sweet. Having contributed to the scllool lor thirteen years. we then drew a long hreath and plunged into the ioy ol- 'ltbsenting ourselves with insullicient excuse. XYith the Senior .Xsstmhly came a semblance ol striousness. With the Senior Prom. l'resident uilteeltl' etlltlltleletl liis tlulles .ts ulL.lKlL'l' til' lllt' ltntf' .Xttending llaccalaureate on lune S. we re- turned home leehng somewhat older and sadder. Going to Llommenc.ment is the custom with Senior classes. hut. iust to he ditlierent as alwav s. we commenced on lfriday. the thirteenth of lune. lllljjf' right 'lihroughout the year we worked and played in athletics and debate and on the 'l'rumpet. as librarians. socialites. musicians. artists, coun- cilors. cooks. directors. cheerleaders. and just plain. good class members. Our athletic scale is composed of llung. VVard. Peabody, Doc. Moses, Sargeant. Elmo, Bert, Adams, Taylor, Iahaan, Pete, Bob. Bud, VVarren and Warren, and Wayne. ln Room 107 Ruthie and lo Ann and Harriet and Ann and Vera carried on their interminable debates. Leading the proms and wearing the posies were Kay and Helen and lletsy. .-Xs librarians the Seniors shone: Vera, Su- zie. lane, Neva. Ruth, and many another book- worm. VVhile Gil and George and Iohn and Alf clicked their shtttters. Iayne and Dave and lean and Kathleen scraped their palettes. ln the mttsical Field liill Hibhard. Eleanor llerden, Dorothy Brown, Mary Ann Bancroft, Alla Darl- ington, VVarren lildridge. Dave Menchhofer. Gordon llennett. loan liendell. Ted llrundidge. Marguerite Pletz, and Lenore Huddleson filled in the Senior treble clef. ln publications Mussie and Lucille and Denny held up the Trumpet, while Dorothy. Kitty. and their stall made dummies ol' the lIeniad. Un the Council we had Iohn Kohs. lloh liarrett. Ruthie Swift. lid Pearce. and Ruth liricsonfintny councilors. all working for the good ol' the school. ln the halls cottld he found 'lied and his otlieers: on the lloard ol' Directors we placed XYarren liltlridge .Xll through high school we huinmed around. hut as Seniors we tried Io attain the heights. XXI aimed at Vs. l's and sophistication. Many achieved the last. some achieved the second. few . - , . acliievetl the hrst. lsut we all tried. XXI- are leaving high school for a serious world. but we will try to keep on singingl
