Congratulations to the Class of '43 upon the suc- cessful completion of another yearbook project. Even though our Gusher may have to give way to activities which are considered more vital in our war effort during the years immediately ahead, let us remember that the right and privilege of engaging in such worth-while activities is one ofthe issues at stake in this conflict. We, the Gusher Staff, spent our entire school year at the front hurdling obstacles from the beginning. We were subjected to shellings, bombard- ments, and snipers from all sides at all times. Regardless of the stiff opposi- tion, barbed wire entanglements, and absenteeism, we obeyed the final command, over the top. Though the never ceasing efforts of Mrs, Pinkston and the Gusher Staff, we wound up our battle with a Gusher. In the years ahead of you, this school annual will probably be handled by future generations with the same kind of chuckles you gave out when you looked at the pictures of grandma as a girl. Today Grandma's pictures are old fashioned. Yours are modern. In the years to come yours will be old fashioned too, for new techniques in the printing business will make them so. Having printed C-randma's pictures in the past and yours today, we hope to print those of your children in the future as they graduate from the schools of Pennsylvania.
