The team put a lot of hard work and determina- tion into the year. They practiced daily at their home course - Briarwood, on 92nd street from two to three hours and played matches two to four times a week. Coach Chet Murawski did a terrific job with the guys. Outstanding golfers were Seniors Craig Vanderwall, Dan Jonkman and All Conference Honorable Mention Flick McClain. Showing improvement from the beginning of the season were Todd Petete and Steve Stewart. Returning golfers next year will be Brian Westveer, Bill MacDonald, Steve Stewart, Doug Schmidt, Mark McClain, Steve Saunders, Mike Krauss and Brad Clinger. QAJ Craig Vanderwall Putts! T-.. Girl Swimmers Rank High Go to State This year's Girls Swim Team did an excellent job with 10 wins and 3 losses. The captains for the team were Jodie Thompson, Kathie Kroeckel, and Carol Lewis. They also qualified for state along with Lori Westra, Hayley Froysland, and Karen Rubin. Mrs. Deborah Park and Miss Nora Bouman were the coaches. They said they really enjoyed the girls and the progress they made this season. We had a good seasong the girls finished strong in the conference swim meet, commented Miss Bouman, adding, We were real excited to take six girls to the state meet. ln conference they had 4 wins and 2 losses putting them in second place, and they took second overall, tying Jenison. Cirls Varsity Basketball Team Takes 5th Title The 1982-83 Girls Basketball Team does it again! This is their fifth straight conference title. Coach Sue Barthold did a ter- rific job with the girls! They ended 17-2 in the conference league, winning the last thirteen games in a row. This year's team consisted of five seniors and nine juniors.
