This year's team was one of the youngest teams East Kentwood ever had. However, the team was full of en- thusiasm and dedication. They im- proved considerably through the season, and if the younger members continue their hard work, great things can be ex- pected from the tennis team within the next three or four years. F 'Q ggssg fl Boys' Track Best Around The 1983 Boys' Track Team came out on top in the O.K. Red Conference with seven wins and no losses. The Falcons proved again to be the best around. The coaches for the 1983 season were Chuck Drnek, Rich Doyle and Jeff Black. Captains for this champion- ship team were Craig Green, Kevin Stankey and Stuart Meyer. The team also took first in Pat Patterson Relays and West Ot- tawa Relays. The Falcons that made it to State were Mike Kaz- mierski, Jesse Heard, Cal Hawkins, Matt Geerlings, Morrie Fongers, John Earhart, Stuart Meyer, Craig Green, and Kevin Stankey. The whole team really did what they had to this year, we're very proud of them, remarked Coach Drnek. lAi The 1983 Boy's Track Team. QBJ A perfect handoff by East Kentwood. , Q T ' if 1 M .. N 'A irls' Golf Team on Ton 1983 was a great year for Girls Golf. They were 5 and 7 for the season: then at Conference the girls took everyone by surprise and placed first. In Regionals they took an admirable fourth place out of 15 schools, missing state by a few strokes. The All-Conference players this year were junlor Laurie Sible and senior Sally Lief- broer.
