MWZUZ5 Jfchzlwe Qyuccma he Ike Luc e S Trickett Leora Love Dell Stephen Tomechko CLASS Ol FIFFRS th Hl tty Let's turn the calendar back a few years and look in on our high school in September of 1935. The scene which confronts us is one of excitement and activity. What period is this? is a typical query of a confused seventh grader. Neverthe- less it isn't long before these greenhorns have become acquainted with school routine Now the scene changes and last years seventh gradels are one year older and wlser They look down on the new seventh graders with expres sions of mingled superiority and contempt Time marches on' We see the eighth graders next as fullfledged high school students Lets peep into their class rooms Here we spy the poor Freshies wading through Latin or scratching their heads over a tough algebra problem This year the class is well represented in extra curricular act1v1t1es having members in Tri H1 Y the musi cal organwatons Forensic Club F F A and F H A and the basketball and track teams The football schedule was cancelled because of the death of John Zublc so the boys who display ability on the gridiron have yet to experience their first year of varsity football Now that we have witnessed the highlights of their freshman year lets move on We flip several pages of the calender It is September of 1938 and here we are at E H H S again Why whats going on over there? It looks like a con ference of some sort There are Dorothy Hill Dorothy Pritts Betty Brown and Barbara Poole with their heads together Yes Its a meeting of the sophomore class officers They are probably plotting some new activity to keep those sopho mores busy They have the reputation of being the pepplest and the no1s1est class 1n the chool The sophomores are very proud and rightly so of winning the inter class basketball tournament Swiftly the months pass until the autumn of 39 rolls around The Junior Class Pliy which IS the class s first attempt in the field of dramatics IS a big success The Jun1orSen1or Prom which they have been anxloulv awaiting throughout the school term cllmaxes the ex ents of the year 1 ffrceuf me Wolff! 2 U, . .
