STEWED-ANT Junior History Back in the golden days of 1920 a bright band of jolly, yet timid little Greenies paddled toward a new sphere in life. How readily we, the illus- trious class of 24' Recollect the trembling, the dread when we assemble for the first time in the old walls of E. H. H. S. Everywhere from every nook and corner peered the gay laughing faces of the upper classmen with their sneering scoffs and stinging words. Right then--We resolved with a strong deter- mination that we would be the victors of our new strife. This mirthful, peppy band was soon bound in the bonds of friendship, and like Busy Bees, knuckled down and dug right in, totally devouring the great work before it. In our Freshmen year we modeled one of the best classes our High School has ever known. It was then that the Seniors, the supposed models for the lower classmen, were kindly asked by our principal to follow our example, then little Freshies. Was not this a great honor? What's more, we have retained this reputation throughout our High School career. As we glided down the stream of time, some lingered a long the way to gather up the little essential bits of knowledge which they had failed to grasp in their daily travels, while others, touched by the Wand of wisdom, sailed unceasingly on to fame. We are sharks at all difficult tasks. We're the pride of our teachers, who marvel at our rare, superior ability, but who many times are greatly dumfounded at our cunning tricks and daring pranks. Sports! jolly time, that's our game. When fun takes wing, our books get a kick and away we fly. Pep is our most prominent possession. When our speedy little Whity and Tubby, sharpshooters at the basket, enter in, the victory is ours everytime. We're as mirthful a class as you'll ever find and, Oh, how we love to tease, especially with our peals and giggles. Are we gigglers? just ask our teachers. During the three short years we've been at High we have fought, won and excelled in many a daring and exciting battle. Not only have we excelled in class works but in every phrase of high school life penetrates the brilliant rays of the Junior Class. Victors---Willing Workers---Star Models. That's us. Who? The Juniors of course. i Alas our little tale must now come to an adrupt close. We hoped and prayed that some famous fortune-tellers or renouned Prophet would dawn at this point, but as either has failed to do so we must only wait until another year glides swiftly by. However we are certain that the delightful dreams of our fame and success as Seniors will come true.
