After a laxity of a few years, when East did not participate in debate. Dwight Burton, the speech instruc- tor, has decided to renew debate competition. Members of the affirmative are Curtis Johnson, and Mary Frances Hawkins while Roger Jolicoeur and Joan Juntti are on the negative team. Both teams are coached by Dwight Burton. ts of Roger gerald. from the consin par- meet, some Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, River Falls, an Menomonie. Each affirmative an negative section of the team par ticipated in three debates, making total of six rounds for each deba team to be judged upon. The de hates began at one o'cloek in th Afternoon and continued until fo o'clocl:, at which time a genera meeting of all the schools was hel to- announce the decisions. Bac judge had sealed his ballot in. a envelope in order to insure secre until the final decisions were tab lated. Thus it was the utmost sul' pride and joy that the debato learned that Superior East had en undefeated first place at' the sec tional tournament, making- th champions of one-eighth of the sta of Wisconsin.
