Other business education courses which help students secure jobs after high school are bookkeeping, clerical office practice and co-op work. This co-op plan makes it possible for seniors to hold a job half a day under school supervision. Judy Elfberg, co-op student, gets on-the-iob training by working in East High offices. Dave Natvigs wrestlers came through again and brought more recognition to East High by tinishing the season with runner-up honors at state. Adding this to the two cham- pionships ot '57 and '58, East High wrestlers showed they are one ot the powers ot the state. During the scheduled season, the grap- plers proved that they deserved the champion- WRESTLING SQUAD ship by building a record marred by only two defeats, West Waterloo and Fort Dodge. The squad had only tour seniors, but it was bolstered by eight letterrnen and one state champion. Next year, however, the squad will have eleven returning lettermen, two state champions and a runner-up, a strength which will make it ci dangerous opponent to anyone. The team, built around four lettermen, had veteran outfielders anol catchers with iuniors composing the infield and pitching staff. Coach William Waters stated, lf the team hustles and plays up to its ability, my last season as a coach will be a success, The East High track team had good pros- pects for the T959 season. With seven return- ing lettermen, the team opened their season by winning two easy victories. Members of the team also placed in both the State AAU and State Indoor track meets. With four returning lettermen, prospects for a winning golf season are good, stated Coach Donald Davidson, but we lack depth. The team, which was Big Six Champion last year, has the balance to be able to defend their title.
