E . The sophomore football squad, under the guidance at Coach Kenneth Ketcham, runs through new plays on the Vine Street Stadium practice field. The sophomore football squad, coached by Kenneth Ketcham with the assistance of Joseph Doyle, ended the 1957-1958 season by taking revenge on their city rival, West High. During the season the hard-hitting sophs lost only their first two games, which were played against West's sophomores and East's reserve squad. Throughout the year the coaches main- tained a total squad of forty-five boys and a traveling squad of thirty-five players. Road trips were made to Cedar Falls and Marshall- SOPHOMORE FOOTBALL SQUAD town. The East High sophomores racked up a total of one hundred sixty-two points in seven games, while their opposition scored only sixty-tive points, East averaged more than twenty-three points per game against their opponents' average of more than nine points per game. ln a letter award assembly four sopho- more boys earned minor letters to set a new mark in the history ot the school. Twenty- seven boys received numerals.
