A fine number of girls reported for practice during llbruary and 'ifter much hard but beneficial work each class organized a team with the fol- lowing girls -is captains: 3 A-C lass Lora Chase B-Class Ethel Mey er C-Class Ethel Jackson D-Class Dorothy Coleman A schedule of eighteen class games was arranged during February, of which only one was lost by default. The Seniors and Juniors soon showed themselves to be equally matched for the honors. Out of their first four games the Juniors won two and the Seniors two. This necessitated a championship game which was played on the boys' floor. This was the first public girls' game and an ad- mission of ten cents was charged. After a mighty hard fight the Juniors won by the score of 24 to 20. At the close of the season East entered the Tri-State tournament at the University. The team, captained by Catherine Gates, was immediately elim- inated by Norwood. However, it was a great season and the girls are hoping that next year's basketball games may be as interesting. 3 Com CHASE. 4-+4 '+ BE if t t t t it if t 2 i t 124
