Dedication A man for all seasons” Is on opr description of this foculry member who for the post rwenry-rhree years has In o literal ond o practical sense helped the growing process of thousonds of Eost High graduotes by introducing them to the cyclical development of nature through his biology ond horticulture classes. A graduate of Durler High School ond Penn Store University with a major In horticulture, he obtained o moster's degree In building trades management. He hos token oddltionol education courses ot Gonnon University ond also attended o summer workshop for teachers of ogrlculture ot Penn Store. Students In his vocotionol horticulture dosses not only learn the theory about plant moteriols, greenhouse operations, conservation practices, landscaping techniques ond other relevant procedures, but also hove actual procticol opplicorion through various work projects carried out in the Erie community. Through his initiative, commitment, ond generosity of time, effort, ond personal resources, the uniquely successful vocotionol horticulture program ot Eost High School hos ortoined recognition by the State Deportment of Education In Horrisburg. For several years he wos In charge of the Senior Prom for which he furnished live plants for use os decorations. He also was moderator of the Horticulture Club for mony yeors. Among his leisure rime activities, he enjoys hunting, comping, cross-country skiing, roller skating, cooking, traveling ond gardening. In recognition of his professional expertise in coordinating theoretical knowledge with procticol application in the oreos of biology ond horticulture, his generous commitment to developing the life skills of his students, ond his persistence in advancing academic excellence ot Eost High School, the yearbook staff dedicates with great pride the 1984 edition of the Sunrise to our highly esteemed faculty member, George Simitoski. 9
