East High School Principal Viola E. Andrews Principal of East High School To the Class of 1978: All of us hope to grow as individuals, and East High School was one of the vehicles for that growth. We hope that the relationships you shared with your teachers, your classmates, and the underclassmen helped you develop a taste for life and offered a pleasant moment in time. A11 Dedication Characterized by a deep commitment to serving and helping others, this faculty member for the past eighteen years has demonstrated the true meaning of the spirit of East High School. A graduate of Villa Maria College, she has taught students in grades seven through twelve. She has shared her expertise in the areas of general science, health and safety, earth and space science, science survey, and biology. For several years she has acted as moderator for the Y-Teens Club on the junior and senior high levels and has twice been recognized as the most outstanding Y-Teen adviser in the city. Her service to the school includes participation on the Commencement Committee, the Faculty Advisory Committee, and the school district's Health Curriculum Committee. She has served as co-adviser for the Senior Class Play, the twirlers, and the Eastcapades. She is the director of the Travel Club and has chaperoned at many school functions. Rallies run smoothly as she coordinates all backstage activities. At many athletic events, such as football and girls, volleyball and basketball, she lends a hand as a ticket seller. Rarely does she miss a school function of any type. In her spare time, she reveals her creative and artistic talents through the hobby of ceramics. Perhaps the students and the staff of East High admire particularly her willingness to serve, appreciate her ability to be concerned with our problems, and enjoy her flair for making us feel that we are all extra special people. ln recognition of her constant service and warm concern for the students and staff of East High, the Sunrise staff returns a special measure of love by dedicating the 1978 Sunrise to Theresa R.
