With sincere affection and high regard the class of 1949 dedicates this Sunrise to Miss Florence Stoltz and Miss Bernadine Chessley. The smooth, efficient operation of the office with its myriads of forms, statistics, and details is due to their watchfulness, ability and untiring work. Miss Stoltz has seen every class come and go since our school was built. Her overall knowledge of every phase of school operation is priceless to the administration. The efficiency and dispatch with which each detail is handled amazes us all. She is friendly, courteous and calm. We have never seen her angry or heard her speak a harsh word. The smoothness with which our school is run is largely dependent upon her efforts. Miss Chessley, the assistant clerk, is the soul of efficiency and cooperation. Her guiet, courteous manner and willingness to help will long be remembered by the students and teachers. She has very capably taken over the responsibility of advisor for the Cheerleaders and the Eleventh Grade M Club. She has well earned our great respect and high regard. We choose this way to reward them, in some part, for their many services, and we look forward to having them with us for a long time.

HAROLD D. LEBERMAN Mr. Leberman has proven to be one of our best friends, from seventh grade up to the Senior year. At the beginning of first period he can be seen standing in front of the office with a friendly smile on his pleasant face. He is interested in our problems, no matter how trivial, and is always willing to give a little helpful information. We at East High, are fortunate in having such a pleasant personality at the head of our school. Some days he appears a little tired but never too tired to inguire about our studies and activities. The fact that he has been at East for only three years, has not prevented his becoming acquainted with the names of the students. We all admire him for placing our good points in front of our shortcomings. n o
