FOREWORD We, the class of I047, honored as the tfwenty-fifth June graduating class, fwish to consciously recollect the things that have made our Alma lklater great. U'ithin the epic period between the classes of 1023 and 1047, remarkable strides have been made. Our school has increased not only in enroll- ment, but also in tlze quality and quantity of the courses ofered. We are justly' proud of this progress. Other notable changes have taken place also. The sports department has developed from one baseball team into an all-inclusive year round program, and the history classes are now discussing atomic control rather than the Washington Conference. In the halls, one sees sweaters and skirts instead of the loose fitting, lofw-fwaisted frocks of yesterday. Using an hourglass as a background, 'we have tried, in developing our theme, to portray this marked contrast between the age of flappers and the age of bobby' soxers. Yet, fwe can never paint a true picture for, in spite of the difference in years, there are too many common bonds linking 10.23 with 1047. life both regard ourfflma Zllater 'with loyalty and venerationj 'we both thrilled to the strains of ZVIay the Scarlet and Grey Float o'er Us ,' and 'we both faced gradua- tion with mixed feelings--regret for tlze end of the carefree happiness of school life and anticipation for the adventure before us. To the Class of '23, fwesexpress our appreciation for the precedents which it so fwisely established. This is our heritage. Our only hope is that five can do no less.
