E A I) E R S EVER faithful allies of the school teams, the cheerleaders were always ready and eager to shout their peppy cheers and urge the boys on to victory. Their colorful red and white uniforms formed a striking pattern both on the field at football contests and in the gym at basketball games. Whenever the boys were lagging behind, in need of moral support, the girls rushed out and led their classmates in backing up the players and encouraging them toward triumph. It can well be said that East's cheerleaders were somewhat responsible for its victories.
