12-B Formal is a ' Crazy Night ' Dec. 26 was definitely a Crazy Night at the annual 12-B Formal dance. The colors teal and fuchsia light- ed up the Cloud Room at the Des Moines Municipal Airport from 8 to 11 p.m. while couples danced the night away to the music provided by the band ' Critic. ' ' Memories of the dance were captured by photographs provided by Grant. The theme song was ' Is This Love? ' ' by the rock group Whitesnake. The dance required careful planning for many weeks. Seniors Christy Roger- son and Stacey Murray, as well as 54 other senior hostesses, organized the dance. Mrs. Gwenn Copple was the sponsor. Each senior hostess bought two $20 tickets and was supposed to sell one of them to a senior or junior girl. At this dance the girls treated the guys. All of the hostesses received complimentary wine glasses for all of their effort in orga- nizing the dance. 1 Senior Tammie Bleitz and her escort Felix Rivera receive their complimentary wine glasses while be- ing announced at the annual 12-B Formal dance. • 1 All 54 of the 12-B hostesses and their dates were announced at the dance and given this memoir. Seniors Jimmy Carter, Jim Kerr, Stacey McCombs, Tim Osborn, Jeff Stickel, Tony Rose and in the front, Jeff Shannon enjoy being treated to a night of fun, compliments of their dates. At this dance the girls asked the guys and, if the guys were lucky, bought them dinner. 12 12-B DANCE

spree Dance a hit throughout ' world izzaz! Flair! Verve! The Interna- tional Affair can be described as all of these. One night of sparkle and flash added zip to the lives of many people. An International Affair, sponsored by the Pep ' ' E ' ' Club, was held Feb. 6 and showed over 200 couples a great time at the Spinsters ' Spree. Giving the couples the chance to be ' ' married ' ' in Rome, throw a friend in ' ' jaiF ' in South America or take a break in the ' ' Hard Rock Cafe in New York were only a few of the de- lights of the dance. Others included dancing in Paris and having our picture taken on the Love Boat of the South Seas. The highlight of the evening came when it was time to announce the Spree court, which included freshmen Tracey Adams and Chad Rinhart, sophomores Pam McClurg and Jim Tedesco, juniors Danny Headrick and Dana Danley. King and Queen were seniors Brad Rob- erts and Darlene Buchholz. The Pep E Club officers were also recognized. This dragon shows only one example of the hard work the Pep E Club did preparing decorations for the dance. A 10-foot Eiffel Tower topped with blue balloons proudly stood on the dance floor and three three-foot pyramids introduced the Egyptian resting place. Special thanks to the metal shop classes. 4 SPINSTERS ' SPREE
