Denise was voted to be the 1987 queen by her senior classmates. One of the most enjoyable times at the dance is being able to spend a quiet moment with a special person. Seniors Dawnette Williams and Scott Brown have fun dancing together. HOMECOMING ATTENDANTS. Freshman Amy Howe, escorted by junior Darin Adams; sophomore Jennifer Jensen, escorted by sophomore Robert Carter; junior Jodi Stout, escorted by senior Tom Steil. Students in each grade level voted for an attendant to represent their class. The top three girls to be nominated were placed on a ballot and the one lucky girl was chosen to be an attendant. Being a queen candidate is a very prestigious and honorable position. Homecoming dance highlights Octobe When Vm With You, this year ' s Homecoming theme, set the mood for a fun and romantic evening. The dance was held Oct. 1 7 from 8 to 1 1 p.m. in the big gym. The colors were peach and gold. Students danced the night away to the music provided by T.K.O. Productions. The dance, organized by Student Gov- ernment, turned out to be very success- ful. About 800 people attended, with tickets selling at $12 per couple. The money was spent on decorations, food and the disc jockey. Pictures for couples were provided by Mr. John Lethcoe for $5. Jolesch Photography provided the snapshots. Before attending the dance, students fulfilled their appetites at many popular restaurants around town. Some of the more popular eating establishments were Maxie ' s, Friday ' s, Riccelli ' s, Chi- cago Speakeasy, Garcia ' s and Crystal Tree. The Homecoming Court included freshman Amy Howe, escorted by junior Darin Adams; sophomore Jennifer Jen- sen, escorted by sophomore Robert Carter; junior Jodi Stout, escorted by senior Tom Steil. Denise was chosen to be the 1987 Homecoming queen by her senior classmates. After the dance, many students got together with their friends and shared some memorable times. Senior Cindy Snow commented, My boyfriend and I had a great time at the dance and after- wards we went to Saylorville Lake with a few friends and enjoyed a quiet and peaceful time together. 10 HOMECOMING DANCE

12-B Formal is a ' Crazy Night ' Dec. 26 was definitely a Crazy Night at the annual 12-B Formal dance. The colors teal and fuchsia light- ed up the Cloud Room at the Des Moines Municipal Airport from 8 to 11 p.m. while couples danced the night away to the music provided by the band ' Critic. ' ' Memories of the dance were captured by photographs provided by Grant. The theme song was ' Is This Love? ' ' by the rock group Whitesnake. The dance required careful planning for many weeks. Seniors Christy Roger- son and Stacey Murray, as well as 54 other senior hostesses, organized the dance. Mrs. Gwenn Copple was the sponsor. Each senior hostess bought two $20 tickets and was supposed to sell one of them to a senior or junior girl. At this dance the girls treated the guys. All of the hostesses received complimentary wine glasses for all of their effort in orga- nizing the dance. 1 Senior Tammie Bleitz and her escort Felix Rivera receive their complimentary wine glasses while be- ing announced at the annual 12-B Formal dance. • 1 All 54 of the 12-B hostesses and their dates were announced at the dance and given this memoir. Seniors Jimmy Carter, Jim Kerr, Stacey McCombs, Tim Osborn, Jeff Stickel, Tony Rose and in the front, Jeff Shannon enjoy being treated to a night of fun, compliments of their dates. At this dance the girls asked the guys and, if the guys were lucky, bought them dinner. 12 12-B DANCE
