HOMECOMING QUEEN ATTENDANTS. Senior Raquel Larson, es- corted by Dean Teuber (a Southeast Polk alumnus); senior Stacey Murray, escorted by alumnus Dereck Lewis; senior Kristy Gamble, escorted by senior Jim Kerr; senior Susie Murrow, escorted by senior Tony Rose; senior Denise Buchholz, escorted by senior Jeff Shannon. Being a queen candidate is a very prestigious and honorable position. Homecoming dance highlights Octobe When Vm With You, this year ' s Homecoming theme, set the mood for a fun and romantic evening. The dance was held Oct. 1 7 from 8 to 1 1 p.m. in the big gym. The colors were peach and gold. Students danced the night away to the music provided by T.K.O. Productions. The dance, organized by Student Gov- ernment, turned out to be very success- ful. About 800 people attended, with tickets selling at $12 per couple. The money was spent on decorations, food and the disc jockey. Pictures for couples were provided by Mr. John Lethcoe for $5. Jolesch Photography provided the snapshots. Before attending the dance, students fulfilled their appetites at many popular restaurants around town. Some of the more popular eating establishments were Maxie ' s, Friday ' s, Riccelli ' s, Chi- cago Speakeasy, Garcia ' s and Crystal Tree. The Homecoming Court included freshman Amy Howe, escorted by junior Darin Adams; sophomore Jennifer Jen- sen, escorted by sophomore Robert Carter; junior Jodi Stout, escorted by senior Tom Steil. The senior queen can- didates were Raquel Larson, escorted by Dean Teuber (a Southeast Polk alum- nus), Susie Murrow, escorted by senior Tony Rose; Kristy Gamble, escorted by senior Jim Kerr; Denise Buchholz, es- corted by alumnus Kenny Hodges, Sta- cey Murray, escorted by alumnus Der- eck Lewis. Denise was chosen to be the 1987 Homecoming queen by her senior classmates. After the dance, many students got together with their friends and shared some memorable times. Senior Cindy Snow commented, My boyfriend and I had a great time at the dance and after- wards we went to Saylorville Lake with a few friends and enjoyed a quiet and peaceful time together. 10 HOMECOMING DANCE

To hip up Homecoming Week, Kenny Deering, a senior, poses for a picture in his Jimmy Hendrix outfit for Hippie-Day to win the Daily Review. Putting forth a lot of effort and strenuous enthusiasm in the Tug o ' War are during the bonfire to support the Scarlets in the pre-game pep rally. Just senior Alicia Davis; juniors Susie Carlson and Darin Adams; and a senior, another highlight of the ever-traditional Homecoming Week. Melanic Wilderman. Denise was voted to be the 1987 queen by her senior classmates. One of the most enjoyable times at the dance is being able to spend a quiet moment with a special person. Seniors Dawnette Williams and Scott Brown have fun dancing together. HOMECOMING ATTENDANTS. Students in each grade level voted for an attendant to represent their class. The top three girls to be nominated were placed on a ballot and the one lucky girl was chosen to be an attendant.
