Through the years, Tradition moves on ■ Homecoming Week is the week dur- ing the year in which East High students show the greatest school spirit. Student Government president Kristy Gamble, a senior, said, ' ' More than half the school participated because of the fun of observing the different outfits people can dream up. ' ' Throughout the years of tradition. Homecoming Week has always been a ' ' smash hit ' ' to support the Scarlets. v.v . Hippie-Day, Dress-up Day, Hawaiian Day, T-Shirt-n-Shades Day and Spirit Day were all crowd-pleasers. The Daily Review winners were Pat Loegering, a sophomore, for the best T- Shirt-n-Shades attire. Senior Kenny Deering won for his spectacular Jimmy Hendrix look-alike for Hippie-Day. Bet- ty Bartram, a sophomore, had a true- blue Hawaiian outfit and won the Ha- waiian Day contest. Sophomore Chris Hatchitt won by showing true spirit on Spirit Day by dressing up in a different variety of sport uniforms. Senior Mike Waters won the Dress-up Day contest by wearing a tuxedo. The Powder Puff game was exciting. The sophomores and juniors had a rough, tough, lean, mean game. The Powder Puff Cheerleaders, how- ever, were the icing on the cake.
