Q. 16, r 'xii T Hallways fill with Homecoming Week spirit from students and teachers Homecoming Week may very well be the most exciting week of the school year. From dressing as a nerd to dressing up as a punker, many Scarlets showed just how spirited they were. They dressed in either their favorite clothes or out-of-the-ordinary ones. Monday. Oct. 21, began Homecoming Week and many students showed off their nerd fashions on Nerd Day. Most people observed this day appropriately. On Wednesday, students dressed up in their Sunday best clothes for Dress-up Day. Thenwild and crazy people dressed in their weirdest clothes on Thursday, Prep and Punk Day. Friday ended Homecoming Week with Spirit Day. Everyone wore red and black. Homecoming '85 put mark on hi tor Excitement rose throughout the gym on riday, Oct. 25, as Mr. Walt Kennedy, irector of Student Government, tore open he envelope which contained the name of he 1985-86 Homecoming Queen. The ords 'sThe new 1985-86 Homecoming ueen is Miss Tiffany Rice echoed hrough the quietness of the student body. s the 1984-85 Homecoming Queen lumnus, Natalie Justiniano, placed the rown upon Tiffany's head, the quietness The Homecoming Court included fresh- 1 Kelly Collins escorted by sophomore Dusty Sheets, sophomore Susie Murrow escorted by sophomore Matt McClelland, junior Missy Moore excorted by alumnus Chris Madsen, senior Mindy Anderson escorted by senior Jeff Brooks, senior Karmen Guy escorted by senior Mark Knox, senior Tracie Moore escorted by senior Mike Pavon, senior Tiffany Rice escorted by senior Ray Stock and senior Shawn Boers escorted by senior Tyler Roorda. The Homecoming Dance was held Sat- urday, Oct. 26. from 8 to ll p.m. in the large gym. This dance just like all others this year, proved to be a big success. In 1960 Dixie Lovell was crowned the first Alumni Queen fthe original name for the Homecoming Qucenb which started the royal tradition. In l985, the Silver Anni- versary of the Homecoming Queen, Tif- fany Rice will carry the silver spotlight until the year 2010, when East High will celebrate 50 years of having a Homecom- ing Queen.
