Mr. Cooper, who is kept busy with various daily problems, advises Sherman Rupe of his position in the problem at hand. Hiatt Gains Cooper Mr. Phillip Cooper, vice-principal at East, will take over the reins at Amos Hiatt Junior High when he assumes the principalship there next year. He earned his B.A. degree at Drake University and the M.A. from Colorado State. Mr. Cooper ' s first teaching experiences were here at East, as a student teacher. For the last five years he has served as vice- principal and boys ' adviser. East High can well be proud of Mr. Cooper, a man who has so well helped solve the daily problems of students and the coordination of school affairs.

Counselors Seldom idle, the counselors at East High work with the interest of the stu- dents in mind. They help new and old students in scheduling and gearing their courses to fit their abilities and interests, as well as handling college and other test scores.
