EOE THE SERVICE 0E HUM l Y Eive Big, Little Words Set Pattern ior Desire To Help Others in World c These five little words mean East High is doing its best to help everyone in the world. Tradition and school spirit have had a lot to do with this idea. All l,384 students and 48 teachers and 4 advisors are behind East High in everything we do. Tradition be- gan in l806 at Bird school, then moved to Webster in l877. ln l89l it moved to the old East High on the corner at East Twelfth Street and Court Avenue. Then, in l9l2, the present building became the home of East High and its tradition and school spirit. East High won its first trophy in l895 at a track meet. The colors red and black were chosen in l894 when our first football team was organized. Our school song was written in l92O and has never been changed. Our school spirit is a spirit of co-operation and self-reliance which characterizes East High, whether on the field or in the classroom, it is an inheritance handed down from our alumni. lt is up to us to keep that spirit marching on, Standing in line for bus checks or game tickets? Looks empty but there are a lot of ghosts in here. Pep assembly. . . clap, clap. . . Having a private party or can we join you? clap, clap . . . clap, clap. --5-.
