liogerly, Diplomas ln l-land STAN AND SALLY TAN AND SALLY GRAD are now ready to step out into the world of which they have heard so much but know so little. All through their school years they have been preparing for the day when they would step out into the world of men and women. Now that this day has come let us look at the tools they have accumulated to build the ladder they hope to climb to success in their chosen field. Purpose of Book It is the purpose of this book to show some of these tools, how they have been obtained, and how they may be used in the world of today. In the Classroom Naturally the first place in the school would be the classroom where the training of the pupil takes place. The first of the tools they receive in the classroom is the knowledge of different subjects. Many think knowledge they obtain will not help them unless they are going into a special line of Work in which that knowl- edge is needed. However, all the knowledge we have will be used either in our vocation or our social life. The knowledge which we have and think we will never use, may be vital to us later when we are out on our own. Social Organizations Tools are also obtained in our social organi- zations. There we learn to meet and talk with others, get along with others, and to assume obligations. They help us to overcome bash- fulness so that we will be able to meet our future employer intelligently and present the facts to him in such a way as to create in him a belief in our reliability. During our social life at school we can make contacts which may help us obtain a position in the world of busi- ness. Athletics Another place in which tools are obtained is the athletics department. Those who take part learn to know the meaning of good sportsman- ship. They also learn to take the defeats and hard knocks along with the honors and the glory. The athlete learns to control himself in his dealings with businessmen through his ex- periences in dealing with a team on the field. GRAD STEP QUT Special Talents The student who has special talents may develop them through such activities as the school plays, the Extravaganza, the Scroll and the Quill. Since they are not compulsory they give experience to those who Wish to engage in them, while they do not interfere with the student who is not interested. N Now let us look through the pages of th s Q book to see how Stan and Sally have been prepared during their high school days.
